About Me

Educational History:

I graduated high school in 1984 and finished Cosmetology School the same year.  I attended Murray State College in Tishomingo and graduated in 1996.  I then went to Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant and graduated in 1999, and later attended East Central University in Ada and graduated in 2004 and again in 2006.

Current Position:

I have been teaching at Tishomingo Middle School for the last 4 years. I currently teach Special Education Reading and do all of the school districts psychological testing.

Previous Position:

I started teaching at Ardmore High School in 1999 as a Special Education Teacher.  I was at Ardmore for two years, and then was employed by Springer Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher, and later became the Elementary Principal.  I worked for Dickson Public Schools for two years as a Special Education Teacher and Reading Specialist/Interventionist.  I worked at Central High/Marlow for a year and then came to Tishomingo the following year, and have remained here since.

Family Information:

I have two daughters, who are grown and have their own families.  My oldest daughter is an apartment manager in Oklahoma City, and my youngest daughter is the Freshman English teacher at Madill High School.  I have four grandchildren, three granddaughters and one grandson.  My granddaughters belong to my oldest daughter and attend school in Putnam City, and my grandson is a student at Madill Early Childhood.  I have two dogs who are like my children, Ace is a daschund and Jack is a Chi-weenie.

Personal Information:

I love to travel and work part-time as a representative for a student exchange program.  I work with families and exchange students while they are attending school and living in the U.S. on exchange.  I also have hosted 6 students from other countries and have children all over the world.  I love to read and I have had a lifelong love for books and reading.  Teaching children to read is my passion.  I also enjoy spending time with my girls and my grandkids.
