Dear Family,

Our 2nd semester has gotten off to a great start! The class has settled back into our routine and everyone is working very hard! Please make homework a priority, this time of the school year, from January to March, is our “Make It or Break It Time”. We are pushing hard to the finish line to reach the goal of First Grade!

Sight Word Challenge: We are beginning our sight word race this week. With your help, your child has the potential to learn 300 sight words to prepare for first grade! This is a work at your own pace activity. The students are rewarded for every list that they master and receive special recognition for every 50 words learned. Happy Reading!!

100th Day Celebration: We will be celebrating 100 days of school on February 5th. The day will be filled with fun activities as we celebrate Zero-the-Hero’s special counting powers! (more info later with specific details)

Thank you,

Mrs. McCollom
