My name is Michelle Vann. This is my seventh year in fourth grade at Tishomingo. I graduated from Harrah High School and went on to Southern Nazarene University where I received my bachelor degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I have twin freshmen, Emilie and Aron who attend Tishomingo High School. I was blessed to stay home with them until they started school then I returned to teaching. Two years ago we were blessed again with two bonus kids: Wyatt is two and Riquel is a five year old kindergartener. My husband, Brett, teaches Science at Madill Middle School. We have been married for 24 years! My family attends Westside Church of Christ in Tishomingo.
I love teaching. I feel my job includes teaching children to think for themselves. At times this includes "tough love" for students by making them find answers on their own. I am a mom at heart, so please know that I want to jump in and give my students all the answers but I have found the reward for solving a problem on their own is confidence. Confidence carries over and allows kids to open their own doors. I look forward to a great year of helping my students reach high expectations.
